Privacy Policy (the plain-English one)

Everywhere else on this site, we are in character. This page is not.

What this site is

Pemberton & Associates is a fictional company. It is a demonstration piece built and owned by Xylora Studios and hosted at demo10.xylorastudios.com. None of the services described here exist, and none of them are offered to anyone.

What data we collect

None. Specifically:

• We do not operate an application database or intentionally use advertising trackers.
• The hosting provider necessarily processes technical request data such as IP address, user agent, timestamps and security logs to deliver and protect the site.
• If you create an "account" here, it lives entirely in your own browser's localStorage. Clear your site data and it is gone forever. We cannot see it. We have tried.
• Bulletin-board posts, journal entries, dossiers, reviews, complaints and bids exist only in your browser.
• We do not collect IP addresses ourselves, though the platform hosting this site and your ISP inevitably see your request — that is how the internet works.

Browser storage and cookies

The experience uses localStorage and sessionStorage for fake accounts, challenge progress, local rankings and dismissed notices. See our Cookie Policy for details and browser controls.

Retention and rights

Local demo data remains until you clear this site's browser data. Hosting security logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational policies. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal data. Contact Xylora Studios through its main website for privacy requests.

What we will never do

• We will never use anything you type here to harm you.
• We will never sell anything. There is nothing to sell.
• We will never produce a document, "ID" or notice that is usable for real fraud — generated output is watermarked, low fidelity and length-capped by design.

What you should do

Enjoy the bit. Do not use anything generated here for any real purpose. If you came looking for genuine privacy advice, a good starting point is the EFF.
